on four wheels’ provides a unique and safe way of using one’s iPhone whilst
driving. CarPlay takes the things one wants to do on the iPhone whilst driving
and makes it available on the car’s built-in display. So getting music, directions,
making calls or sending a message can be achieved allowing one to still stay
focused on the road.
Siri voice control is used in CarPlay, which is prime for
driving scenarios. An added advantage of having CarPlay in one’s vehicle is
that it is compatible with the buttons and controls in one’s car. Siri can also
read, messages as well as reply and send them without one ever having to
look at the iPhone whilst driving.
Also, Android Auto is an interesting find worth checking out from Google. Android Auto only operates with Android phones, just as CarPlay operates with iOS devices.

Nvidia featured the Project Mercury Customizable Digital Cockpit concept in Las Vegas at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES). This allows drivers to make their ride their own by giving the option to choose the color, digital texture of the instrument panel. It can also be adjusted to suit the mood and taste of the driver. Here technology affords the car owner to customize their vehicle without having to use physical materials.

The rearview camera has become a driver's delight because of the ease, and confidence it gives the driver as they reverse. These accessories have been growing in popularity particularly since the prices have become somewhat reduced. This writer will feature the Garmin portable navigation system with wireless reverse camera. The Garmin's wide angle camera can be mounted on the rear of the vehicle and wired into the reverse lights. Via wireless connection to the 7 inch screen of the PNS, the camera switches to rear view when the gear is shifted to reverse.
