Vehicle Care

VEHICLE CARE

Lets face it when one makes the decision to purchase a vehicle it is an investment. In keeping with that concept one would want to maintain that investment in order to gain the maximum benefits.

Vehicle care is paramount if one really desires their ride to look, function and serve at its peak. Firstly, this writer would like to categorically state that there is nothing like a clean, crisp, showroom condition car rolling on the street.

CAR CARE and DETAILING

Interiors

Get the light, crisp clean feeling when you enter your vehicle by cleaning it. Clean the interior of the vehicle before tackling the exterior. This is done to avoid water entering the vehicle, creating a wet, dirty area that may be more difficult to clean. Follow these easy steps to interior cleaning and detailing.

*Interior care involves de-trashing, vacuuming, cleaning, dressing and vinyl or leather conditioning.

1   *  Set up the tools of the trade to save time, extra work and money:
-       Trash can
-       Stiff bristle brush and soft brush
-       Vacuum cleaner.
-       Pre-treatment e.g., pre-spot remover.
-       Soft cloth/applicator pad for wiping surfaces.
-       Mist bottle and/or pail.

STEP 1: Remove Trash
Clear all the trash from the interior. Empty vehicle pockets, consoles and ashtrays. Be careful when reaching under seats to remove trash and debris.

STEP 2: Brush and Vacuum

Remove all floor mats, and using the stiff bristled brush agitate any spots/stains on the carpet and fabric to loosen dirt. Thoroughly vacuum both the interior and the trunk. Remove loose dirt from the floor mat by vigorously shaking, and then vacuum. [Wash mats, if you have the time and place them to dry].

STEP 3: Pre-Spot Treat Any Heavily Soiled Areas.
Mist pre-treatment onto the area/spot and agitate with a brush. Let the product set for time indicated by the manufacturer and remove product with a soft cloth/towel.

STEP 4: Clean all Vinyl/Leather
Mist the cleaning product of your choice on the vinyl/leather dashboard, headliners, sun-visors, steering wheel, center console and door panels. In heavily soiled areas, agitate using a soft brush. Wipe area dry with a clean cloth.

STEP 5: Clean Carpets, Headliner and Seats
Use the product of your choice, mist directly on the surface to be cleaned and either leave for the specified period as directed; or use a nylon brush to agitate. Remove cleaner with a soft cloth or wet dry vacuum. Be careful not to oversaturate the surfaces to be cleaned with the product.

STEP 6: Dress the Vinyl/Leather
Restore the original beauty and shine to the dashboard, vinyl upholstery, door panels and other vinyl parts by applying the finishing of your choice. Apply with an applicator pad, and then wipe area dry with a clean, soft cloth.

STEP 7: Condition the Leather
Using leather conditioner of your choice, apply to leather seats and other areas. The conditioner will penetrate the surface restoring the gloss, texture and suppleness.  Apply conditioner using an applicator pad, with overlapping circular movement. Repeat if necessary. Note: Do not apply leather conditioner to suede fabrics.

STEP 8: Stain Guard Upholstery [Optional]

Evenly mist stain guard of your choice on clean, dry upholstery and allow it to dry. Repeat process if necessary. Be careful not to oversaturate area. Do not use on leather, hard plastic or vinyl.
